If you’re thinking that this topic of articles is getting progressively harder, you’re right - it sure is. Hint: it’s all about the very last letter (regardless of what different vowels might precede it!). NERD ALERT: Demonstratives are also called der-words (<– a term we will continue to use!) because of the similarities of these strong declensions (that der-words use) to the different ways of saying ‘the’. □įor example, if you want to talk about this book (‘this’ is a der-word), you’d have these options: But here’s a definition for you:ĭeclensions are endings that get put onto words (including, but not limited to, articles) so that they reflect the gender & case of the noun the follows.ĭer-words all take what are called strong declensions <– rather implies that there’s at least one other type of declensions … possibly weak declensions. You’ve already seen them in the definite article and indefinite article charts. TIP: if the determiner is not an ein-word (<– defined later), it’s a der-word by default. as in every mouse, this cat, that dog, many snakes. Now you need to learn about a 3rd type of articles called demonstratives or der-words, which are words such as every, this, that, many, etc. Demonstratives ( der-words)Īt this point, you might already be feeling a bit overwhelmed. But it’s a lot of tedious memorization either way.Īnd, of course, just as with the definite articles, you still have to learn how to know the gender and case of every noun in order to actually use the charts. Here you have the same uber-traditional version and a somewhat improved, more ‘modern’ version of the chart. Of course, in conventional German-learning, there’s another chart for that: Now you have to learn how to say a (and ‘not a/any’) in German, which is also obviously pretty important. And maybe you’re thinking that one chart wasn’t so bad. It’s all well-and-good to learn how to say the in German. Indefinite articles ( ein, eine, einen, etc.) I walk you through determining noun case in the Digging Deeper section below. With this much information, you know that you need the das, dem, or des version of the neuter ‘the’.įiguring out which case Buch needs to be in is the 2nd step that then whittles these three options ^^ down to just one! Not masculine or feminine (and plural would obviously be books, and that’s different). In order to pick out the version of the that you need, you have to know two things:įor example, if you want to say the book in German, you have to know that book ( Buch) is a neuter noun. When a German learner looks for ‘articles’, one of the first things you’ll be introduced to is a chart like this:Įither way, we have a chart that tells us specifically how to say ’ the’ in German - six different ways! How do you pick out the correct variant of ‘the’? More on these useful distinctions in a bit! Definite articles ( der, die, das, etc.) Instead, I refer to determiners AND pronouns AND adjectives all as very clearly different types of words. Personally, I advocate for ditching the term articles altogether (read more below!). this, that, some, all, etc.).īut you’ll also see the terms determiners, pronouns, and even adjectives coming up in discussion, with all the lines of definition between them very frustratingly blurred. Some people use the same term ‘articles’ to refer to other words come in front of nouns (e.g. Generally speaking, what we can say for sure is that the categorization “articles” will always refer to definite articles (the 6 ways of saying ‘the’ in German) and to indefinite articles (the 6 ways of saying ‘a’ in German).īeyond that, the waters get murky. So, if you’re feeling confused, you’re not alone! Tough question! The true (but unsatisfying) answer is that there can be a lot of overlapping vocabulary here. So, we’ve got some work to do! □ What Are Articles? That’s 3 English options to 12 German ones. I know that can be hard to compute for us English speakers. There are six slightly different ways to say each of them in German. Part of that difference means that, in German, we must learn slightly different ways to say the same words - for example, different articles!Īrticles are little (but important) words such as ‘ the’ and ‘ a’. German is classified as a different type of language from English: German is an inflected language and English is an analytic language. a better term than articles (sneakpeek: determiners).how to avoid using 10 different articles charts!.why conventional teaching of articles is all wrong. “The bottom line is simply this: There is utterly unfounded public hysteria, driven by the media and politicians. Injecting children, especially, with the shots is a crime against humanity, he contends, calling it “obscene.” Not only do children have almost zero risk of contracting or spreading the Chinese Virus, but the shots will more than likely damage them more than they will adults".COVID Fraud: ‘The Greatest Hoax Ever Perpetrated on the Public’ Hodkinson says two to four years is a minimum trial window for determining the true effects of experimental injections. Simply put, the six-month trials conducted by Big Pharma to test these injections is not even close to being enough to determine whether or not the jabs cause infertility. “But there is also potential for a hit on the testes, which of course is not a one-time hit, it could be a permanent hit.” “In a world where we know that sperm counts have dropped 40 per cent over the last 10 or 20 years – a massive unexplained drop in sperm counts – we don’t need some additional hits on male fertility.” “And that circulation takes the spike protein everywhere, including the placenta of women who happen to be pregnant at the time, which is a one-time hit for that particular pregnancy, probably not for subsequent ones,” Dr. Excess spike proteins circulating in both – caused by the vaccine – inhibits reproductive function, science has discovered, potentially leading to infertility and sterility. Hodkinson was referring to pertains to the expression of the ACE2 receptor in both the placenta and the testes. But when I see certain things in the literature that could – underlined – have serious potential long-term sequelae, I think it’s my duty to stand up and blow the whistle and say, ‘Hey, stop the train, have you seen this? It needs to be looked at.’ I hope it’s wrong but show me the data.” Legitimate vaccine trials would have taken four years, not six months. “I’m a serious evidence-based career pathologist who has done everything in pathology at national and provincial levels and I take evidence-based science very, very seriously,” he stated at the meeting. People who get the jabs are going to regret it, he warns, because many, if not all, of them will lose their reproductive capacity. Hodkinson has come out full blast in condemnation of Chinese Virus injections, urging an immediate halt to their continued rollout. In his speech, he called the plandemic “the biggest hoax perpetrated on an unsuspecting public.” Since then, Dr. Hodkinson gained worldwide popularity last fall when he appeared at a meeting of the Edmonton City Council to decry a proposed plan to extend a Chinese Virus mask mandate. He was educated at the University of Cambridge and University College Hospital Medical School in London before moving to Canada in 1970 and training at the University of British Columbia.ĭr. Hodkinson explained that there is now “sufficient evidence in the literature” to suggest that vaccine spike proteins express themselves both in the placenta and the testes. All the same, Oscar Schmidt perfected the autoharp and is still the most famous and respected zither manufacturer. A few years later, Oscar Schmidt acquired the corporation, then trademarked the name "autoharp." Many believe the Oscar Schmidt Company invented the autoharp, but this is not factual. Because of the surge in popularity, a second manufacturing company, the International Musical Corporation in New Jersey, began producing autoharps. The Carter family were the first known autoharp players to stand while playing the instrument rather than sitting down to pluck the strings. Secondly, the legendary Carter Family, discovered in the late 1920s, brought a new level of recognition to the instrument. Ernest "Pop" Stoneman created a wholly unique style of plucking the autoharp. Nearly two decades later, the autoharp surged in popularity, thanks to two new country and gospel acts. Around 1910, the Phonoharp Company in Boston began producing the autoharp. He did enjoy some success, so he sold his business and relocated to California. Unfortunately, Dolge struggled financially. Marketing materials boasted that "50,000 have been sold in the first three years.” Despite the autoharp's success, Alfred Dolge acquired the patent and moved production to New York. Production of the autoharp remained in Philadelphia for nearly four years. However, despite the conflict, the first known autoharp produced in America happened in Philadelphia in 1885. Historians are conflicted on which man invented the autoharp. In 1885, after returning from visiting his native Germany, Zimmerman updated his patent with a newly submitted design similar to Gutter's. However, there is one photo of him playing his instrument that tied him to the States geographically. Researchers found no record that Zimmerman's autoharp was manufactured in the United States. But the design was quite different than Gutter's zither or today's modern autoharp. Zimmerman patented an instrument he called an autoharp in 1882. Shortly after receiving his patent, he sold the rights to fellow German native and musical instrument manufacturer Herman Lindemann. Gutter was a successful luthier (a craftsperson who builds and repairs stringed instruments) in Markneukirchen, Germany. In reality, a British patent was granted to German native Karl August Gutter in 1883 for his version of the Akkordzither. For many decades, the autoharp's invention was credited to a German immigrant in America, Charles Zimmerman. However, a couple of enthusiastic researchers discovered additional information that corrected historical facts. Your PDF won’t open in a PDF reader, but it will in a browser? The first thing you need to know about Army Promotion Points is the point breakdown by category. This is the equivalent to a waiver for the lower enlisted ranks. Secondary Zone is intended for soldiers who have proven to be exemplary, and gives them a chance to get promoted sooner. Primary Zone is the standard for all soldiers. However, there is also something called Primary Zone and Secondary zone that must be considered as well.
